Theta Wimble is a character in the Melisende Dulac Series.
Biography
Theta is a recent graduate from Oregon State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Anthropology, Minor in Forensic Science. As a summer job before starting graduate school, she signs onto the team brought by Lauren Talbot to move the graves from the graves from the Hensley Asylum cemetery to Bluebunch Glen Memory Garden.
Theta is a true crime aficionado who is obsessed with the Freshwater Murders and their similarities to her own experience as a survivor of the Wimble Murder.
Towhee Freshwater refers to her as Teep, from a children's book Emile used to read to her.
After the deaths of their parents, Theta and Delta were raised by their grandmother in Philomath, Oregon. Though she did her best, their grandmother was unable to provide close supervision of the girls. Not long after moving in with her, Delta struck her head on the side of a swimming pool while in Theta's care. At first, Delta seemed fine, and neither girl thought to mention the accident to their grandmother. Later that night, Delta complained of a headache and went to bed early, but by morning, she was unresponsive. The grandmother rushed her to the hospital where it was determined she had suffered an epidural hematoma. The delay in diagnosis and treatment would prove fatal, and she died later that day.
Theta feels responsible for Delta's death, and carries that guilt throughout her life.
