The Shoe Tree is a location in Barlow County in the Melisende Dulac Series.

Details

An old white oak planted by Dalton Hensley's mining company near the Palmer River Bridge between Samuelton and Wilton, it has been used by high school kids as a place to hang old shoes. As laces break and the shoes fall, they've been left to pile up at the site, though occasionally a local church group tries to clean all the shoes up, suspended and fallen alike. It doesn't take long for a fresh batch to show up.

In 2022, one of the shoes was found to contain a severed human foot.
