Virginia Newland

Virginia Newland neé Kinniburgh is a character in the Melisende Dulac Series.

Biography

Virginia is the wife of Dearth Newland and foster mother of Towhee Freshwater. She is the sister of Kendra Kinniburgh and Esmée Kinniburgh.

As present she works as finance manager at the business she co-owns with her husband, Dearth's Earth. She also volunteers at the Barlow Museum and serves on the board of the Barlow County Historical Society. Previously, she worked as Customer Service Manager at Rolling Sage Bank.

Prior to the Freshwater Murders, Virginia had an affair with Clark Freshwater—a one-time event she initiated after learning her husband had been having a long-term affair with Dorothy Freshwater. She subsequently killed Clark in November 2009 after he returned to Barlow County, intent on clearing his name. In addition to being Towhee's foster mother, she is the legal guardian of Emile Freshwater.
