Towhee's Watchband
Towhee's Pendant is a small, glazed ceramic disc made by Towhee Freshwater in the Melisende Dulac Series.
Details
Towhee made the disc at school as an art project. It is a flat disc about two-inches in diameter and a quarter-inch thick. The disc is fired and glazed in yellow, with the letters #ilovedaddy pressed into the surface with the end of a popsicle stick. The letters are also colored with blue glaze. A small hole in the top edge allows for a leather cord to suspend the disc as a pendant.
Towhee made it as a gift to her father, who often wore it. When his body was discovered in a shallow grave at the Hensley Asylum for Infirm Ladies and Needful Girls cemetery, the presence of the pendant helped in the identification of the body.
