The Wimble Murders refers to the February 14, 2000 murder/suicide committed by Robert Wimble in Appleton, Wisconsin. He and his wife Maris died in the incident, while his four-old-daughter Thea survived.

Because of the similarity in name and age of the survivor, Theta Wimble developed an obsessive interest in the case—to the point she began to identity herself as the girl who survived despite the fact there was no connection between her family and the Appleton Wimbles.
