Located on Cape Meares, Short Beach is a shingle beach believed to be named not for its small size (roughly 1km in length) but for an early resident of the Tillamook Bay region.[1] It is roughly a mile north of the Oceanside.

The body of Harry Pond was found on Short Beach on the morning of February 24, 1942.
