Konrad Boruvka, M.D. is a character in the Eden Pond Series.
Biography
Dr. Konrad Boruvka was a doctor with offices in Tillamook and Wheeler. Over the years, he treated Merton Pond for chronic lung injury. He also treated Harry Pond for polio, and both Harry and Eden Pond for the usual litany of childhood ailments and injuries.
Of Czech ancestry on his paternal grandfather's side, he grew up Newark, New Jersey. During World War I he served as a driver for the U.S. Army Ambulance Service, then spent a year traveling through the United States after the war before settling in Oregon to attend the University of Oregon Medical School (now Oregon Health Sciences University)[1].
