Kenneth Jelinek, M.D. is a character in the Eden Pond Series.
Biography
Dr. Kenneth Jelinek was a doctor with offices in Tillamook and Wheeler. He treated Merton Pond over the years for chronic lung injury. He also treated Harry Pond for polio, and both Harry and Eden Pond for the usual litany of childhood ailments while growing up.
He served as a driver for the U.S. Army Ambulance Service during World War I, and attended medical school at the University of Oregon Medical School (now Oregon Health Sciences University)[1] upon his return. Though he and Merton were in France at the same time, they did not meet until Dr. Jelinek came to Tillamook in 1926.
