Located in [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garibaldi,_Oregon Garibaldi, Oregon], Pond Salvage and Repair is a small business run by [[Merton Pond]] out of a workshop and junkyard behind the house he shares with his sister [[Eden Pond]].

The house was built in 1898 by Merton's parents shortly after they were married. Merton was born in the house in 1899. The twins [[Eden Pond|Eden]] and [[Harry Pond|Harry]] were born in the house as well, but not until 1917. After the elder Merton's died in the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu Spanish Flu Pandemic], Merton inherited the house. Harry moved out of the house in December 1941, though Eden remained in residence with Merton for the duration of the war.
